Leek & District Sports Awards 2009

Leek ASC had a fantastic evening at the last Sports Awards Evening, we were entered in 6 categories and actually won 5 of them.  The list of winners is:

Senior Sports Personality:    Daniel Vickers

Junior Sports Personality:    Danielle Amson

Team of the Year:             Girls Relay team of Amy Williams, Danielle Amson and Michelle Riley

Coach of the Year:             Geoff Summerfield

Volunteer of the Year:        Chris McFadden

They will all go forward to the areas final to be held on the 18th April 2009.  It was a special evening, even more so, because Jessica Sylvester was the person doing the presentation.  As you may know Jess started her swimming career with Leek before going on to represent Great Britain at the 2008 Olympics.

Fantastic News at the overall competition held in April Chris McFadden won overall Volunteer of the Year and Geoff Summerfield won Coach of the year.  Well done to them both, thoroughly deserved.  To the others they were also worthy winners but were runners up on the night.  However each category winner had a video played of their achievements and a personal attribute was paid to their achievements and talents. It was a lovely evening, with entertainment and food.  Well done to all the club is very proud of your achievements.
